  • Project: Telecommunication Systems of Sarakhs-Neka-Rasht Gas Pipeline
  • Location: Northern Part of Iran
  • Client: IGTC & NIGC
  • Contract Type: Detail Engineering and Procurement
  • Started: 2010
  • Status: Completed

Target

Replacement of the existing analog telecommunication system with DMR systems, and establishment of a number of new sites, equipped with the same DMRs, to improve monitoring and management capabilities along the pipeline. Also, enhancement of supervisory systems in main monitoring/control centers of the pipeline including Shahid Hasheminejad Refinery, Shahid Bagheri, Gorgan Yard, Lakan (Rasht) and Tehran.

Main Features

  • Enhancement of telecommunication network of a long pipeline which has an existing and under load network
  • Integrating various telecom systems in order to meet voice and data requirements
  • Vast geographical area of the project, extending over five provinces
  • Extreme geoclimatic factors due to special positioning of the sites, which are located near the sea & thus experience high humidity and high temperatures

Scope of Work

  • Telecommunication systems
    • SDH fiber optic transmission system along the pipeline
    • PCM network access equipment
    • Synchronization equipment
    • SDH and PCM network management systems
    • UHF/VHF radio coverage system to enable mobile communication along the pipeline and between the pipeline mobiles and central control rooms (CCRs) as well as local control rooms (LCRs)
    • SDH MUX equipment with capacity of STM-1 and electrical interface to operate on digital microwave Radio
    • PCM MUX equipment, supplied for access layer of network
    • Point-to-Point MW radios to transmit bi-directional data in a synchronous digital hierarchy with STM-1 capacity
